Inspiration

I wanted to test the AI tools to see if I could create a short animation. I have to settle on a trailer since I didn't have that much time.

How we built it

The intention was to create a larger story that would form a series, but that's yet to be seen. The images were generated using a hodgepodge of various AI tools, depending on which ones I still had credits available, as well as some clipart and Google Earth. The AI tools included Adobe & ChatGPT, which were primarily used for creating the design work.

Some of the other AI tools were for music, including Suno, and for images and video, Runway, Flow, VEO3, Astra, Kling, MidJourney, and a few others that did not make the cut. I started to lose track.

What we learned

AI is not a simple one-button push. Unlike Spielberg, who has hundreds of great artists to work on his films, or any other director, independent filmmakers and animators do not. But we can have an army of AI agents to help.

What's next for Escape From Mars

To create a limited series showing how she managed to communicate back to Earth and eventually escape Mars
