Inspiration

We all know how Lenton is. It's no surprise we want to escape it. A game might be fun we thought about this so went for it. Also wanted to mess around with phone gyroscope I think so theres that!

What it does

Its a game where you control a car that has a health, in Lenton (where it's known to have many buildings and lavas.). However the steering of this car is done by connecting to your pc via your phone on https://lenton.abbyw.net/ by entering your pcs ipv4 address, and via the connection the cars steering is done by tilting your phone!

How we built it

Most of the game is done with Godot, including the server. However connecting to server and sending the phone tilt data/rotation data via the gyroscope of the phone is done by javascript! And the website UI is with css/html of course :D

Challenges we ran into

I'd like to say everything personally? Bullet round!

Gyroscope library required a https website to work
Most of us didnt know how to use Godot so that was really hard
Phone Gyroscope sent lots of trash data that had to be cleaned and extracted
General time issues and moral issues we've ran into (Most of us are sick so that mightve affected this)
(Only issue we couldnt solve) Phone connecting to pc must be an Android running Chromium based browser.

But in the end we persisted and got it done i'd say! It's not the best but we had 25 hours :))

Accomplishments that we're proud of

THE GYROSCOPE STEERING WORKS!!!! It was quite something! I think we're most proud of the general main character/car's controls, both via keyboard and via the phone ip connection gyroscope. I'd say we are very proud of the conenction too! That was a really hard part of it.
