Inspiration
My kids inspired me to make a series of dream escapes. It was first based off a movie they loved when they were little but I changed it up a bit and put my own little twist on it. My daughters enjoy escape rooms as well and always love to see what ideas I come up with and then love to come in and test the world out.
What it does
It is an escape room full of puzzles, tasks, and adventures that has a completion time at the end. If you get stuck on a puzzle there is an option to purchase the answer so they can still get through the whole world without getting stuck. It’s fun and keeps you guessing and wanting more. Many times players like to try to finish the whole escape room first and then come back to get a quicker time on the leaderboard.
How we built it
We used Meta Horizon World tools, block script, sketchfab, blender, and desktop editor.
Challenges we ran into
Scripting is always a challenge but we always make it work. There are times we get players contacting us if they come across and issue and we go back in to fix it. Also, lots of glitches and memory issues seems to be a challenge at times as well.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of importing in our own 3D models, proud of our design, proud of the scripting to make the world a fun adventurous place for our fans to enjoy.
What we learned
We learned to go onto sketchfab and import 3D models through blender to bring in the world through desktop editor. Learned how to make the cutouts and bring them into our worlds. Always learning new scripting as well.
What's next for Escape Dreamland
This is going to be a series of dreams. After each one it will give a little glimpse of what the next dream will consist of. It will keep them guessing and wondering what is next to make them want to come back to see.
