Errandr: The Future of Task Hiring
Inspiration
We saw a gap in the market—people struggle to find reliable help for everyday tasks, while skilled individuals often seek flexible work opportunities. Errandr was born to seamlessly connect both groups in real-time.
What it does
Errandr is a location-based task hiring platform that allows users to post tasks, set prices, and receive counteroffers from nearby workers. Taskers can track available jobs, negotiate pay, and securely complete transactions—all while ensuring transparency through reviews and secure payments.
How we built it
We developed Errandr using:
- Frontend: React.js for a seamless, responsive UI
- Backend: Node.js with Express.js for scalable task management
- Database: PostgreSQL for structured task and user tracking
- Location Services: Google Maps API for real-time job discovery
- Authentication & Security: JWT for secure user sessions
- Payments: Stripe API for seamless transactions
Challenges we ran into
- Real-time tracking: Ensuring smooth and accurate location-based matching
