Inspiration
We love to read. We love cats! We wanted a fun way to keep track of how much we read and add a cute little cat incentive to read ebooks rather than paper books.
What it does
Every reader needs a place to keep track of all the books they've read and how long they spent on a book. With eReadPurr we make it very easy keep track of all things books! And for a little bonus, every time a reader has accumulated 24 hours, they have the ability to add a cat to their library! How cute and fun!
How we built it
Designed using Figma Implemented using WiX website builder Hosted on a domain using Domain.com Uses Twilio to send you cute cat pictures
Challenges we ran into
CockroachDB wasn't super friendly with connecting it to our site. We ultimately had to scratch it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Getting Twilio SMS to work. They made the integration really easy to understand and now we can send cute cats to everyone!
What we learned
We learned how to use Twilio. We also learned how to design our website using Figma's tools and were able to easily transfer our design into Wix and create our website!
What's next for eReadpurr
We would like to the option for readers to exchange their hours read for a new cat to place in their library. We'd also add a timer feature to the website so you can just turn the timer on and read for a set period of time without trying to remember how long you were reading for.
