Inspiration
Given the theme of the hackathon and the play our organizers did in the start the idea came from that. Isn’t it awesome to see Spider man fighting the Nazis in the WW2?
What it does
It takes your favorite hero/character to a period in time and generate a story with a 30s video along with caption
How we built it
We chose quick open source libraries and tools to build this quick. We first select a character and get more details about that character through Groq API, and then select a time period where you want to see your character go to. This will trigger Groq API which will return video scripts blazingly fast along with image prompts. We take the results from groq and pass it to google text to speech to convert to audio file and save in the database, we then use the imagepromts from the groq and pass it to replicate to make AI generated images. In the end we combine all these and create a video.
Challenges we ran into
There were n number of challenges we faced, one of the hardest one combining all the elements to create a video, with Remotion we were able to quickly combine all the elements together. Thanks to cursor IDE I was able to generate bugfree code with help of simple text
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am happy that this project came out well in the end although we didn't had enough time.
What we learned
Collaboration and dedication. This hackathon was a really good exercise to get your brain going and think out the box solutions.
What's next for Era Shift – A Hero’s Timely Quest
We will try to add more characters and eras and make the platform more user friendly and gamified.
