ERa Emergency Response Application - Track: (Social Impact)

Track: (Social Impact) An application in which everything that a person could need, even when time is a huge limitation during an emergency crisis, would be available.

Inspiration

The victims of the Marshall fire, who were more than likely never prepared to handle and respond to the crisis in the moment.

What it does

Gives up to date information about weather, local news, emergency updates, and radio for the user.

How we built it

We built the sight using JS and EJS (node js) styling of HTML pages in which we connect every page of the site in one dedicated js file.

Challenges we ran into

Finding APIs that were free (to avoid spending money) was a huge challenge and detriment to the project because it severely limited what information we could provide on project pages, as well as not being able to code for mobile applications limited the progress on our final vision.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Getting together a base functionality of the site.

What we learned

It is difficult to work with APIs without spending money.

What's next for ERa Emergency Response Application

Developing a mobile version of the application is super necessary for the future work on this project.
