Inspiration Our experiences as international students exposed us to significant cultural and linguistic barriers when transitioning to a U.S. curriculum. Adjusting to a new education system while overcoming differences in teaching styles and language proficiency was challenging. These difficulties inspired us to create a solution that supports students from diverse backgrounds, making learning more accessible and inclusive. What It Does Our project provides a multilingual, community-driven learning platform that bridges educational gaps for international and non-native students. With features like live lecture transcription, language-based resource filtering, and culturally relevant learning references, it enhances accessibility and inclusivity in education. Additionally, it empowers students to contribute translations, share knowledge, and engage in diverse learning communities. How We Built It We started by designing our prototype using Canva, which allowed us to visualize the platform’s layout and user interface. To establish an online presence, we created an introductory website using GoDaddy. These tools helped us effectively present our concept and demonstrate how our solution would function in practice. Challenges We Ran Into One of our biggest challenges was narrowing down our ideas into a single, focused solution. We had numerous innovative features in mind, but simplifying our approach while maintaining impact required careful decision-making. Balancing creativity with feasibility was a crucial learning experience for our team. Accomplishments That We're Proud Of We are proud of our ability to collaborate effectively and develop an idea that is both creative and inclusive. Despite our different backgrounds, we worked together to create a user-friendly design that prioritizes accessibility. Building a platform that has the potential to support students worldwide is an achievement we deeply value. What We Learned Through this hackathon, we realized that hacking is about much more than just coding—it involves teamwork, problem-solving, and innovative thinking. As first-time participants, we learned the importance of collaboration and how technology can be leveraged to create meaningful change in education. What's Next for Us Moving forward, we plan to further develop our idea by learning new design and app development tools. Platforms like Figma will help us refine our user interface, while app development tools will allow us to build a functional prototype. Our goal is to continue improving our solution and eventually bring it to life.
