Inspiration

While casually scrolling through TikTok, I stumbled upon a heartwarming video of a woman who employed individuals with Down syndrome. Her story deeply moved me, and it sparked a powerful question: What if there was a platform specifically built to help women and marginalized communities access job opportunities tailored to their unique needs? That moment became the foundation of EquiBridge — a mission-driven platform aiming to bridge the opportunity gap through inclusive AI.

We built EQUIBridge as an inclusive, AI-powered platform designed to connect women and marginalized communities to jobs tailored to their specific needs.

Challenges we ran into

Finding job data that supports diversity filters (e.g., women- or disability-friendly jobs) was tough; most APIs don’t provide inclusive tagging.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Created an AI-assisted CV generator tailored for marginalized users.

Built a job discovery tool that personalizes listings based on each user’s skills, needs, and goals.

What we learned

Accessibility is not optional — it’s core to user experience when building for marginalized communities We also became much better at using React Query, OpenAI APIs, and Django serializers under tight deadlines.

What's next for EQUIBridge

Partnerships with inclusive employers and NGOs to list verified, opportunity-rich jobs. Resume & mentorship dashboard that helps users track applications, receive advice, and grow professionally. Multi-language support to serve diverse communities across regions.
