Inspiration

In a world where over a billion individuals lack access to basic banking facilities, financial equity remains a distant dream. Our journey commenced from a simple yet profound realization - the power of financial inclusivity in bridging gaps and fostering growth. EquiB Web Bank is our endeavor to erase these financial divides, powered by the limitless potential of blockchain technology.

What it does

EquiB is a web-based banking application designed to democratize financial services. It facilitates the generation and storage of crypto wallets, enabling seamless transactions through the Circle crypto systems. By abstracting complex crypto processes, we ensure a user-friendly interface that encourages financial interaction and growth. From peer-to-peer transfers to earning yields on savings, EquiB embodies a holistic financial ecosystem.

How we built it

On VScode and github. Used react and firebase to store user entries. The edifice of EquiB is built on a robust blockchain (MATIC-MUMBAI testnet) that guarantees swift and secure money transfers. Our user-centric approach guided the creation of an intuitive registration process, ensuring easy onboarding and KYC compliance to prevent illicit financial activities. Utilizing Firebase, we've structured a resilient backend that securely stores user data, while a Python script facilitates wallet creation via the Circle API.

Challenges we ran into

Our voyage wasn't without storms. Navigating the developer-controlled wallet from the Circle API was a labyrinth we managed to traverse, marking the birth of our first developer-controlled wallet. As we sailed further, integrating real-time profile display remained elusive, despite successfully storing user data on Firebase. The limited timeframe posed as a tide against merging the backend and frontend, an endeavor that remains on our horizon.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Crafting a developer-controlled wallet was a landmark victory. The successful storage of user data on Firebase not only showcased our technical prowess but laid a solid foundation for future enhancements. Despite time constraints, the synergy between backend logic and frontend display reflects the potential of EquiB as a game-changer in financial inclusion. We also managed to setup the react app and connect to Firebase Realtime Database.

What we learned

The journey honed our skills, teaching us the essence of adaptability, teamwork, and the boundless capabilities of blockchain. It illuminated the path of integrating complex APIs and managing real-time databases, insights that are stepping stones for our future endeavors.
