Inspiration
Finding and knowing where accessible housing can be found for people with movement disabilities can be difficult. On paper, housing may be accessible, but not all locations are equally convenient. Causing unnecessary stress.
What it does
To help we created an app that allows college students with movement disabilities to more easily understand how accessible and convenient their housing options are, both on and off campus, by tracking important features for people with movement disabilities and calculating a score.
We did this by creating a Swift app using Pitt housing data scraped from the Pitt website.
Allows you to select on or off-campus housing. If on-campus housing is selected, the app will provide the user with calculated accessibility scores of all the residence halls. If off-campus is selected it will allow you to input an address and show it calculated accessibility score.
How we built it
We did this by creating a Swift app using Pitt housing data scraped from the Pitt website
Challenges we ran into
Difficult to use databases for pitt and general housing data.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Making a visually appealing and easy-to-use app that can help people with movement disabilities.
