How we built it

Equal Wheels is a state-of-the-art web app that was meticulously crafted using a powerful stack of cutting-edge technologies. Our front-end development was brought to life with React.js, providing a dynamic and interactive user interface that ensures a seamless user experience. To guarantee secure authentication and user management, we integrated Auth0, delivering robust and reliable authentication services. For accurate and efficient mapping and navigation, we harnessed the power of Mapbox, allowing users to easily find their destinations and optimize their routes. The app's backend infrastructure and real-time updates are powered by Firebase, ensuring reliable data storage and seamless communication between users and drivers. To create a visually stunning and responsive design, we utilized Tailwind CSS, ensuring a sleek and modern look across all devices. With this powerful stack, Equal Wheels offers a feature-rich, secure, and visually captivating platform for all users.

Challenges we ran into

During the development of Equal Wheels, we faced various challenges, with time constraints being one of the most significant hurdles. As passionate developers, we were driven to deliver a high-quality web app that met the needs of marginalized genders seeking accessible transportation. However, with limited time resources, we had to carefully prioritize tasks, streamline our development process, and make efficient use of available tools and frameworks. Balancing feature implementation, testing, and refining user experience within the given timeframe required meticulous planning and constant adaptation.

This intense experience emphasized effective project management, teamwork, and the ability to think on your feet while delivering a functional product within tight time constraints.
