Our mission is to help combat the food insecurity crisis.

Our solution addresses the food insecurity problem within the United States. The hunger-problem is a lot closer than people realize. Marginalized communities, including rural areas and communities of color, are especially in danger of facing harder access to nutritious food. With the pandemic on top of that, the problem has only grown. Our app is made to combat the immediate need for food in communities, while also showcasing just how close to you the hunger problem really is.

We chose a mobile app for this solution as nowadays most people have some sort of mobile device. Our app would source information for people who are in need of food. From food pantries to community fridges. There really is not a native app that sources information like this out there. Most community fridges only have websites and social media. Even established organizations like Feeding America don’t have apps. It also allows for people to directly help affected communities. Each location that gives free food, has a list of items that are most needed in that specific location. This ensures that people are helping in a meaningful way.
