Inspiration

We want to revolutionize how patients with chronic diseases are able to manage and predict their symptoms through the use of an intuitive application, especially with diseases and health conditions where a tracker doesn't already exist.

What it does

This application helps patients with epilepsy track and predict when their next seizure will be based off a set of input parameters that they enter each day.

How we built it

Built using Python 3 as backend and BeeWare and Toga UI toolkits for frontend, Visual Studio Code as IDE

Challenges we ran into

Learning a new frontend API and integrating it with data manipulation as well as figuring out what frameworks to use were our greatest challenges.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have a working demo of this application that can be expanded upon after this hackathon.

What we learned

Building a project in 24 hours requires a lot of planning, delegation and time management!

What's next for Epilepsy Seizure Tracker

The next update will include a graph visualization to better display data and predict trends as well as a more polished UI. We hope to conduct further research to see what features can be added to make this experience even better for epileptic patients.
