Inspiration
As someone with Epilepsy, my life has been hard. I have faced many hardships and near death experiences. From always waking up in the hospital unsure of what happened, how much time had went by, and how I got there to being ostracized by my peers, administrators, and teachers at the many schools I went to growing up. Winding up in the hospital a lot, I had to have many electroencephalograms (EEGs) performed, which monitored and detected any seizure activity in the brain, I always wished there was an easier way to track and manage my Epilepsy without all the pesky wires, itching, and tests. My journey with Epilepsy since my diagnosis as an infant until today is what inspired the idea for the app Epilepsy Daily (EP Daily), which aims to help those who are suffering with Epilepsy by offering a consistent solution to monitoring and managing your seizures. This was built using Figma, React, and GitHub in the JavaScript language. We want to help people with Epilepsy make their lives easier and not have to suffer through more tests and hardships than necessary.
What it does
It allows users to log their triggers and seizures throughout the day and gives them reports and feedback based off what they have logged that day. Secondly, it gives feedback through a reports page, which shows them their data that has been analyzed. In addition, it allows users to set reminders to sleep, eat, take medication, etc. Lastly, EP Daily allows for them to share this information of what they logged, their data analyzed, and everything else within the app with their neurologist.
How we built it
Built using Figma, React, and Github in the Javascript Language
Challenges we ran into
- Spending to much time on certain aspects of the project
- Got stuck while designing it.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The design of the application is basic, easy to navigate, and makes the lives of people with Epilepsy easier, which was the goal.

What's next for Epilepsy Daily (EP Daily)
A chat where users of the app can connect with and receive support from other people with the same neurological disorder. (Users will be able to choose to opt in or opt out of this)
Connection to an external app (ex. Fitbit) that can monitor your heart rate, sleep, etc. and the app will alert you based off the data collected at every second at a moment when a seizure may be coming on
A button for emergency contact, so if the user feels they are going to get a seizure they can hit it and it will contact someone and get help unless they cancel the call after they hit the button
