Inspiration

Our inspiration came from a close friend who was struggling with her skin. She had acne and tried many products, visited dermatologists, but still faced a major issue: she couldn't track her skin’s progress throughout her long treatment. This caused her stress, making it difficult for her to stay committed to the process. Eventually, she gave up, and we realized this is a common struggle for many people. We realized that a secure and personalized tracking system, such as Digital ID, could help her and other users stay committed by allowing them to store and monitor their skin data effortlessly.

What it does

Epi-Tech is a personalized skincare solution designed to track skin development over time. The device uses sensors to analyze skin hydration, oil production, and pigmentation, offering tailored recommendations and real-time feedback. With integrated Digital ID technology, Epi-Tech ensures a secure and seamless way to store and access personalized skin data. The Digital ID enables encrypted authentication, allowing users to securely track their skin’s development, as well as receiving customized insights and managing their skincare history with precision. By using this technology, Epi-Tech provides a personalized, data-driven approach to skincare, empowering users to stay on track with their routine while making informed decisions about products.

What we learned

We learned that skincare is deeply personal, and users need to feel confident in the technology they use. Privacy and security are key concerns, which is why Digital ID plays a crucial role in ensuring that users’ skin data is securely stored and easily accessible only to them. By focusing on a user-friendly design and strong data protection, we realized how essential trust is when developing a product that interacts with people’s health. We also discovered the power of collaboration; working with dermatologists, skincare brands, and tech experts helped us refine Epi-Tech to be both reliable and innovative.

How we built it

We aim to combine cutting-edge biosensor technology with AI to develop Epi-Tech. The sensor will collect data from the skin’s layers, and AI processes this information to provide personalized skincare suggestions. We will also integrate Digital ID technology to store skin profiles securely, enabling users to track their progress and share data with dermatologists or retailers.

Challenges we ran into

A main challenge that we faced was not having enough knowledge about dermatology and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our technology. We had to search for adequate sensors to ensure it could detect even the smallest changes in the skin’s condition. Additionally, we had to study the market to make sure that our product would bring added value.
