eolas

Research often happens in fragmented communities: eolas hopes to solve that. We use the Lens Protocol to provide a social media platform for researchers, where researchers can connect and publish.

What it does

Blockchain version of arXiv.

How we built it

By developing novel tools with Python, Flask, and the Lens API (through a graphQL client).

Challenges we ran into

Mirroring lens api functionality in Python, and developing new tools from scratch for this.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

It almost works. We are able to create profiles, have them follow each other, and have the user search for publications & profiles (modulo some bugs)

What we learned

Details of the Lens Protocol, how to make GraphQL queries, and how to build libraries in Python.

What's next for eolas

Build in peer review features, and more developed follow modules. Make more use of Reference Modules for connecting researchers that cite each other. And then, watch the money come in.
