Inspiration

Our inspiration for ENVISIONING SUCCESS Using machine learning stems from the need to empower students and their families with a tool that facilitates informed decision-making in higher education. Recognizing the pivotal role universities play in shaping academic and professional trajectories, we aim to provide a predictive score system that considers essential characteristics to guide individuals towards institutions that align with their educational goals.

What it does

Envisioning Success is a web application designed to predict the score of universities based on critical parameters such as quality of education, alumni employment, quality of faculty, publications, influence, citations, and patents. Users can input specific university characteristics, and the application employs machine learning models to generate a score, aiding students in selecting institutions that best suit their academic aspirations.

How we built it

  1. Gathered a comprehensive dataset with relevant university information.
  2. Conducted data cleaning and preprocessing to ensure data quality.
  3. selected and trained machine learning models for score prediction.
  4. Developed a user-friendly web application using Flask, providing an intuitive interface for users to input university characteristics.
  5. Deployed the application on a hosting platform for accessibility.

Challenges we ran into

  1. Ensuring data accuracy and integrity during the cleaning process
