Inspiration
Our inspiration came from miraculous amount of food being wasted in our county, India. So, underprivileged people, which are in masses in India, do not make their ends meet and have at least 2 square meals a day. Whereas, richer classes had tons of wasted food, which made us feel we should do something about this.
What it does
It is a low-cost effective way of minimising food wastage with every meal. You can type the meal of the day ye having, and it will give you several limited options (limited because millions of food items exist, but those many aren't possible for us to add). It also gives just the right amount of quantity of ingredients which can fill the stomach of an average eater so that 0 food is wasted. When less food is consumed, less will be bought. When less will be bought, other lower sections of the society may eat something. Less-food wastage automatically means sustainable living!
How we built it
Using PyCharm IDE, Python programming language, Notepad++, MS Word, Ms PowerPoint and Devpost ;)
Challenges we ran into
Dealing with errors in programming is always a challenging task for beginners. Also building just the right program made us more enthusiastic and always motivated us to dio ore and finish the task. We being middle school kids also wrote theses on the project, and sustainability actually had cool vibes.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Successful teamwork, and coordination of our tasks, successful achievement of what we wanted, was the thing we are proud of the most.
What we learned
My teammate gained even more experience of hackathons, I gained technological skills and meaningfully invested my time in this hackathon. This was
What's next for The Sustainability Vibes
We'll work more on things which help us build our environment for sure. Thanks for the wonderful opportunity of gaining enormous experience, that too online!
