What inspired us

We were heavily inspired by the challenge of creating the best camping theme hack using Velo-Wix given our time constraint of 24 hours.

What it does

The website shows the top five camping places in New Jersey and the contact information. It also holds a (mock) store for people who are looking to camp. The site holds many images and texts as well as a (mock) story of the company itself. It also holds a secret game that users can play on the site. (Hint: Look for the Snake and click the link)

How we built it

We used Velo by Wix as a framework to make the website and afterward used javascript and HTML to add some features that were not available on Velo.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges we ran into were implementing the game and using javascript to put google maps on the site with the locations of the camps. This proved difficult as we were stuck for a while trying to create a database that could work for google maps and make it do what we want it to.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were proud of using the API system of Velo which helped prop Google maps on the websites. In addition, we are proud of the fact that this is our first-ever hackathon and we managed to put something together that works.

What we learned

We learned a lot about API and Javascript. This experience has helped us as a team cooperate more and boosted our confidence as programmers. With the help of some tips and videos, we were able to create a fully functional site quickly and efficiently.
