Inspiration
Our inspiration for this project came from seeing the problem first hand as people walked by the unnecessarily large amount litter on the street. People are often "too busy" or too engrossed in their own lives that they cannot find the time to clean up the community we live in. So using our impressive skill of being on our phones all day we attempted to include features like simple first steps that would help people continue to use the app.
What it does
EnviNote is a reminder app to keep the user engaged in continuously performing an action through both a rewards system and the small task method of accomplishing goals to encourage the user to repeat the action as broken down it is much easier to do.
How we built it
Designing the layout we used Figma which none of us had much experience in. Additionally we used the HTML and CSS options to customize the designs and we utilized Canva to create the logo. We planned to also utilize either Django and MySQL as the Database to store information or Figma's built in database Airtable where we would use python to compile the code.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into alot of problems with trying to setup the Django server in such a short time frame and Figma's user input options were extremely limited and poorly developed.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our group is proud of being able to persevere with a product even after many hours were wasted on over-ambitious parts of the project as well as being able to work well as a group in such a small time frame.
What we learned
We learned that especially for projects with such a low time frame it is important to be realistic with our expectations and plans for our projects as planning to create everything from scratch takes a significant amount of research and time to do.
What's next for EnviNote
Proper database storage and transfer to a design that can output values into a database.
