inspiration

I was affected by the sinus when am 17 yrs old, I have visited the most polluted area in Hyderabad after my sinusitis and got infected by inhaling those pollutants in the city the I got an idea of why shouldn't we create a website which tracks our location and notify us about the pollution in our area. After failing many attempts, finally we created the website that I wanted.

What it does

It asks the user to allow the location and the notification access to send the data of the air pollution around them in a single frame and alerts the user on how they should run according to the air quality index in that area ...

for those who don't know about the air quality index, it is used to report the quality of air around you. It tells you how clean or polluted your air is, and what associated health effects might be a concern for you.

How we built it

We have built it using HTML, CSS, JAVASCRIPT, NODE, EXPRESS, API mainly open weather pollution API and the gnews API which showcase the latest articles render on our website and at last, we also used git to scrap all our work.

For deploying the server we used the Heroku cloud application platform ...

Challenges we ran into

We got to know about the deposit and Envirothon lately and we registered for the Envirothon on September 16. I have worked 3 days sleeplessly ...

Due to the power cuts in our area, we have done more than half of the coding on the mobile. But we felt this as a new experience by coding from the mobile, but for all, we won't recommend doing code in mobile because of the complexity of the mobile debugging conditions and we can also not inspect the website after running javascript in the mobile.

By the time of submission, we faced an issue with the newsAPI where it stopped showing the news articles suddenly then rather than losing the work that we do we took it as a challenge and searched about this issue and cleared the issue by using the other API named news ..

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The accomplishment we were very proud of is that although we got to know about this project lately we submitted the project on time with a fully responsive website.

What we learned

I was the only member who knows the backend in the team and my friend was new to it... I taught him how to do the backend by the time doing our project and we together learned how to manage our timings when we are near the submission deadline...
