Envest

Inspiration

The inspiration for Envest came from a survey that revealed that 55-65% of GenZ that don't currently invest are interested in ESG investments.

What it does

Our platform empowers young individuals to make an impact by investing effortlessly in environmental-linked investments. It connects users with sustainability linked start-ups and small companies seeking equity. It uses the round-up system to make investing effortless and showcases the environmental and social impact of investments and offers small start-up access to the new type of investors.

How we built it

We started with a design thinking method, explicitly stating the problem and brainstorming all possible solutions, which allowed us to gain a full picture of who our users are and what may directly benefit them. Then we used Figma to create the app's prototype, and Flutter to code the final result.

Challenges we ran into

The most difficult part for us was when the pages didn't respond as expected after we had exhausted all feasible debugging options. In addition, the emulator wasn't working.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we come up with a solution for such a pressing problem and successfully created our MVP.

What we learned

We had little experience with Flutter and found it tough to code the pages, but we learned a lot about it.

What's next for Envest

Determine user choices and match them to relevant investments. Learn more about users through payment categories and the choices associated and Improve the recommendation in an iterative manner based on users' preferences and their last investment choice categories.
