🌐 Circles – Project Story

🚀 About the Project

Circles is a Web3-powered social investment platform that allows fans to invest in movies, music, and entertainment projects — and earn when those projects succeed. It's where audiences become stakeholders and creators find community-driven funding.

💡 What Inspired Us

The idea sparked from a recurring problem in the entertainment world:

Brilliant films, albums, and ideas fail not because of lack of talent — but because of lack of funding.

At the same time, fans are consuming content more passionately than ever, yet have zero ownership or upside in what they love. We asked ourselves: "What if fans could be more than just viewers? What if they could fund, own, and grow with the stories they care about?"

That’s how Circles was born — a platform that bridges the gap between creators and fans through micro-investments, perks, and a vibrant social layer.

🛠️ How We Built It

We started with a no-code prototype using tools like Bolt and Framer to visualize user flows and test the UI/UX. Key steps included:

  • Designing a Netflix-style home layout with project carousels and genre rows
  • Creating an Instagram + Discord-style community system where each project has its own interactive space
  • Integrating Web3 wallet logic for investment simulation
  • Building a working light/dark theme system with custom blur and gradient layers
  • Adding dynamic features like investment tiers, claimable perks, and story-style Circles UI

📚 What We Learned

  • User psychology is everything — people don't just want to fund a project, they want to feel part of something bigger.
  • Community design matters — we blended social UI from Instagram, structure from Discord, and perks from gaming systems to make interaction feel fun and purposeful.
  • Entertainment investing needs trust layers — we explored mechanisms for creator credibility and investor safety.
  • Design-first development can rapidly validate bold ideas before diving into code.

⚠️ Challenges We Faced

  • Getting the right balance between Web3 and Web2 so users don’t feel intimidated by wallets or crypto jargon
  • Designing a community system that feels alive but doesn’t overwhelm casual users
  • Ensuring real creators/projects can be onboarded with tools that are simple but powerful
  • Building a token logic + legal layer that aligns with local regulatory limits

🎯 Where We’re Headed

Circles is evolving into a full-stack creator economy platform — unlocking new ways for fans to invest in culture, not just consume it. We're preparing for smart contract integration, IRL events, and creator onboarding at scale.
