Inspiration
Inspired by the many social unfavored groups and their effort to bring visibility to their situation like the BLM initiative, we decided to create an app which would support these people.
What it does
The Ensejo project has two goals in mind: the first one is to create a space to divulge opportunities for impoverished communities and individuals who suffer from social disadvantages, such as women, non-binary genders, indigenous and black people; the second one is to engage people to join voluntary activities in order to help the groups cited before and encourage donations to organizations focused on providing those initiatives.
How we built it
We built the entire application using react native and Expo, a multi-platform technology that allows us to develop an app for Android and IOS at the same time. For the registers and the back-end part, we used only an API Rest on the Firebase
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges was creating an innovative idea in such a little time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We managed to create an useful app, which also has a simple and good-looking design.
What we learned
Since this was our second hackathon, we improved our team work efficiency and learned to convert simple ideas to multi-functional and complex projects.
What's next for Ensejo
In the future, we wish to expand the app functionalities to allow people to make group organizations and share their experiences through chats and a timeline.
