The inspiration behind this project came from a common struggle faced by students: navigating the confusing and time-consuming college admission process. With so many colleges, courses, and criteria to evaluate, students often feel overwhelmed. That’s where our idea sparked — to build an intelligent, conversational assistant that simplifies everything. Using Salesforce’s AgentForce framework and the power of AI, we developed a smart agent that helps students explore colleges, view complete information about departments, courses, faculty, events, rankings, and more all through a simple chat. Once the student selects a course, the agent provides key details like fees, duration, and seat availability, and even processes admissions automatically. Throughout this project, we learned how to design user-centric chat flows, integrate Salesforce objects, automate data collection, and provide real-time updates using Apex, Flows, and Experience Cloud. Building the agent involved mapping complex student journeys into simple guided steps and making it feel natural and intuitive. One of the key challenges was creating a scalable architecture that could handle multiple colleges and course variations, while ensuring a seamless user experience. Overcoming these hurdles taught us a lot about solution design, conversational UX, and the real power of automation in education.
