A Clear-Problem statement
The average consumer buys 60% more items of clothing than in 2000, but each garment is kept for half as long as consumers discard items more quickly. These buying habits contribute to the 39 million tons of post-consumer textile waste that is generated (at a minimum) worldwide each year primarily in the form of garments. Of that vast majority of clothes in the waste disposal stream, roughly 70% will go to landfill and 30% will be incinerated. Of the fifth destined for recycling/sorting: roughly half is recycled; 40% is re-used as second-hand clothing; and the remaining 10% in fact ends up in the waste stream. In terms of the bigger picture of all discarded clothing, this breakdown means that only 10% overall is recycled, only 8% is re-used as second-hand clothing – but 57% is sent to landfill. In order to help alleviate this problem we can use these materials to produce other items. Since face masks have become a necessity due to the pandemic every individual is required to wear a face mask in order to protect themselves against the disease. The World Health Organization and other public health organizations agree that masks can limit the spread of respiratory viral diseases such as COVID-19. At present, people are hoarding facemasks and other necessities that keep us safe which makes the majority of people vulnerable.

Inspiration
The fashion industry is one of the biggest contributors of solid waste due to fast fashion and the changes of trends which resulted in our goal to help the environment with our creativity by producing face masks, PPEs, and bags with the use of discarded fabrics and second-hand clothes. Since these materials cost less to nothing and can be even found within our own homes.
Target users/Audience
ENNO is a Social Enterprise residing in Butuan City which drives us to primarily focus those within reach but because of the available technology, such as our devices, we can access websites and other social platforms to market the products. Social platforms have a wide range of users which we may influence potential innovators upon seeing our mission allowing them to create their own solutions in their community.
What is the proposed solution
In order to lessen the fashion waste in our community we have decided to upcycle these materials in order to create bags, facemasks, and PPEs while maintaining its best quality.
Why is it relevant?
No matter what the situation, people would still need to step out of their homes whether for work, food, and etc. which exposes us to high chances of danger. In our current situation we are aware of how anyone at any time can be infected with the disease. For the safety of the people, it is no question that every individual is anxious to protect themselves against COVID19 by wearing a face mask and other necessities to follow what is known as the ‘new normal’. By upcycling discarded fabrics into facemasks, PPEs, bags and etc., not only are we fighting against the disease but we are also helping the environment.
How did we build it?
-We build it with the help of our school and the help of our teachers and mentors. -find local suppliers for “retaso” or used fabrics (it can be out a donation) -find the Seamstress
Accomplishments we are proud of
-Starting a business while we are still in school -The community we have made because of the products that we sell
challenges we encountered
-in order to create the products we had to find the capital to start the production and purchase the materials needed. -Right suppliers -We cant have inmates from butuan city jail make our product but we are shifting for the local Seamstress that had stopped their operation due to covid 19. -Market the product in a larger scale -Faster production(efficiency of production)
What did we learn
-the demand for mask is high as well as PPE’s and other product that can be designed for this new normal due to the the spread of the disease known as COVID19, people are driven to hoard or bulk-buy the necessary products to protect oneself against COVID19 which resulted for the supplies to go low
what tech. did we use to build it
-sewing machine/ computers for design
