Inspiration

Education has become mandatory these days. Though different nations adapt different methods to ensure education for everyone, we still see the students from economically weaker section struggle to receive high quality tutoring when needed. The spread of covid 19 has further worsened their situation.

What it does

Enlighten the minds is an e-learning platform where students can access high quality courses at a price affordable to them. If a student is from economically weaker class he/ she can access the courses at a minimal amount by applying for scholarship. Refugees can also access courses for free through our refugee scholarship program.

If someone wants to be an instructor, they can register in our application as an instructor. Once the registration is confirmed he/she can create the courses using the create course section. While creating the course, the instructor must provide the section name, total number of sections and the video url. Once the resources are provided, they can publish their course.

People with good hearts who wish to contribute for the education of the refugees can create a post and like minded people can contribute by donating some money for the education of refugees.

How we built it

We have used HTML,CSS, Javascript and Bootstrap 5 for the frontend. We have used Python django for the backend

Challenges we ran into

Handling dynamic data with javascript and storing data in the database consumed more time for us. We had to do a lot of research to create the scholarship programs created for the low income students and refugees.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We have built an e-learning platform which provides quality education to the low income students to whom online education could be rich beyond their wildest dreams

Instructors can create courses and can earn a passive income and use it for a good cause.

People can create a post to raise funds and use it for the education of refugees.

Thus, we could solve the injustice happening to the economically weaker section and impart knowledge to the refugees.

What we learned

We have learnt on how to work with github. We learnt frameworks like django, bootstrap which were new to us. We learnt to work as a team and collaborate to complete the project within the deadline

What's next for Enlighten the Minds

We have planned on implementing a built-in video conferencing system were students can have live classes with the teachers so that they can clear their doubts immediately
