Enigma

Inspiration

We were inspired by our recent NASA showcase to continue exploring the possibilities of showing and teaching newer people what goes on in space travel and exploration. This app will have relevant information about space exploration, facts, and tabloids about space travel. Also motivated by the idea that this app promotes and encourages teamwork and collaboration.

What it does

Using this application, people can learn about space travel and exploration, as well as test their knowledge by collaborating with others to solve some space trivia problems. This app is built with teamwork in mind, as the only way to finish a level is to find another player and work together to get through. The application provides all sorts of information that would help improve community awareness about different space-related topics.

How we built it

The app was created using android studio and firebase, this app connects to a firebase database, which will log all users created. When users are connected, we will display and show several news articles, facts, and information regarding space travel. We have incorporated a minigame in the app, allowing users to connect to each other and give each other quizzes and problem-solving exercises.

Challenges we ran into

Finding the optimal way to construct a game room and match players
Being a solo programmer and product manager had its managing challenges
The race with time

What's next for Enigma

The next step for Enigma would be to:

Improve the matching algorithms using Geo-location and proximity matching systems
Create more advanced player rooms
Add some Improved UI
Add more trivia questions
Expand the knowledge database
