Inspiration

As students, finding housing abroad can be an overwhelming challenge, especially in high-demand cities like Munich. The reliance on inaccessible property advertising, such as newspapers and physical ads, creates barriers for tenants and landlords alike, making the process more cumbersome and inefficient.

What it does

Our solution bridges the gap between offline and online property listings, enabling advertisements to seamlessly transition to digital platforms. This expands the reach for tenants, providing richer and more diverse housing options while empowering landlords to advertise even without prior digital marketing knowledge.

How we built it

We leveraged the Solana blockchain to create a robust, decentralized system driven by smart contracts. To incentivize and reward participation, we implemented RWRD tokens, ensuring a smooth user experience through a simple and intuitive interface.

Challenges we ran into

Navigating the stateless nature of the Solana ecosystem presented unique challenges, particularly when implementing more complex procedures within smart contracts. Setting up development environments and mastering new tools in unfamiliar programming languages added to the complexity.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully deployed functional Solana smart contracts and developed a solution we believe can address real-world problems, such as the challenges in housing access, in a meaningful and impactful way.

What we learned

Setting up environments in an unfamiliar ecosystem often takes more time and effort than anticipated. However, understanding the foundational principles of Solana proved invaluable and paved the way for efficient problem-solving.

What's next for EnHouse

Our next step is to enhance the complexity of our smart contracts, introducing more sophisticated and appealing incentives to attract users. By scaling up adoption, we aim to address a portion of the ongoing housing crisis and contribute to the broader Solana ecosystem.
