There are good things and bad things which entail a catastrophe, such as a pandemic. Improvement in public health and sanitation was a positive outcome of Black Death pandemic which engulfed Europe in the middle ages. Likewise the current COVID 19 pandemic, even though is devastating, has opened up opportunities for betterment of the human life. Remote working has presented itself as a credible backup plan in the current situation, as social distancing has now become the norm of everyday life. Since we live in the information age, we have the ways and means to utilise the various tools to implement remote working in an efficient manner. One such tool which can enable us in this direction is Microsoft Teams, which gives us an integrated digital environment to help us in efficiently managing the remote working environment.
We can utilise MS Teams for communication and task allocation remotely.
Microsoft Teams integration with Outlook enables the work allocation using Tasks and Planner extensions.
It can be used as a way of reporting leaves by sending the message to the dedicated Teams channel as the Teams channel can be configured using Power apps to mark leave in their personal Outlook calendar and sending information to the team leads and work allocators. Meetings in the Teams can be so helpful with the integration of Whiteboard which is good for drawing the plan and for giving lessons. Also the live captions option is very useful when the individuals joins the meeting from a noisy environment especially during the lockdown with kids around.
