English-to-Minion Translator

Inspiration

I wanted to create a funny hack and I found an API that translated English phrases to the language of the Minions from Despicable Me.

What it does

I built a website that allows users to input text in English and then translate it to Minion speak.

How I built it

I built the website using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I also used the FunTranslations Minion API to perform the translation from English to Minion.

Challenges I ran into

I had trouble using the API because the documentation had some incorrect information. I played around with the code and was eventually able to figure out the correct way to make the API call.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am proud of myself for creating a fun project and using an API.

What I learned

I learned how to use HTML form input to collect user data and make an API call.

What's next for English-to-Minion Translator

Some improvements to the project could include providing the pronunciation of the Minion language and including an audio clip.
