Inspiration

I have always had a hard time typing in Bangla. Most keyboards sold in Bangladesh don't have the Bangla layout printed in them. Which means, we need to memorize the keymap to write Bangla faster. This is why I thought of an app that would allow me to easily write English or Banglish and convert it to Bangla.

What it does

It allows a user to write in Banglish or English and get Bangla text in return.

How we built it

Challenges we ran into

One major challenge is that some words sound the same. But the AI seems pretty damn well enough to return the most relevant result. Still, the AI sometimes returns useless text like "This is the translation:".

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The AI works surprisingly well. I am using it to type Bangla comments now.

What we learned

AI is not always right but it returns accurate results 95% or more times.

What's next for English to Bangla Type & Translate

Context based training would be very useful. And a copy button (I hope the partyrock team will add it soon).
