Inspiration
"As I stepped into the tech world, I noticed something concerning - the brilliant minds building our digital future were struggling silently with mental health. While companies focused on code quality, the coders' well-being was often overlooked.
This realization hit me: healthy engineers create better products. When mental health suffers, innovation suffers too. Every employee is valuable, and their well-being directly impacts company success.
That's why I created EngCare - a platform where technology meets compassion. To ensure that the people building our future don't break under pressure, and companies can truly care for their teams like family."
What it does
"EngCare is an AI-powered wellness platform that actively prevents engineer burnout through:
• Early Warning System: AI detects stress patterns from work habits and alerts before burnout • Safe Space: 100% anonymous mental health support with professional resources • Personalized Care: Custom wellness plans based on individual work patterns • Team Insights: Helps companies improve workplace culture without compromising privacy • Crisis Prevention: Immediate support for those showing severe distress signals

How we built it
Frontend: Streamlit (for rapid prototyping and interactive UI)

Challenges we ran into
Data Privacy Balance Creating useful company insights while protecting individual employee privacy was tough. We solved this with anonymous data collection.
Accurate AI Detection Differentiating between normal work stress and serious burnout was challenging. We combined multiple data points for better accuracy.
Real-time Performance AI models were slow for instant responses. We optimized our models and added caching.

Technical Learnings: • Building ethical AI requires constant balance between accuracy and privacy • Simple models with good data often outperform complex models with poor data • Streamlit + FastAPI creates incredibly fast prototyping capabilities • User experience matters more than features in mental health applications
Industry Insights: • Mental health is still a taboo topic in corporate environments globally • Companies want to help employees but don't know how without invading privacy • Early intervention can prevent 80% of severe burnout cases • Engineers prefer anonymous digital help over face-to-face counseling
