About EneTyl
Our journey began when our randomly assembled team of 11 students from TSI AUCA decided to create a meaningful social project. After brainstorming various ideas, we recognized a need of learning the Kyrgyz language—both among locals and foreigners. However, many existing resources were either outdated or not engaging enough. This inspired us to develop a mobile app that makes learning Kyrgyz fun, interactive, and accessible for everyone.
Over the past year, we’ve gained invaluable experience in:
- Collaborative teamwork – Managing a large group with diverse skills.
- App development – Designing UI/UX, programming, and testing.
- Machine Learning – Generating unique images for each word using AI tools.
- Language education – Structuring vocabulary in Kyrgyz, Russian, and English for effective learning.
Our app currently features:
- 450 words across three languages (Kyrgyz, Russian, English).
- AI-generated images for each word to enhance memorization.
Interactive games to reinforce learning:
- Matching words to images (drag-and-drop).
- Spelling challenges (rearranging letters to form the correct word).
We used React-Native for cross-platform compatibility and integrated Fastapi with sqlite database for backend support. The AI-generated visuals were created using open-source ML model and similar tools to ensure each word had a memorable, high-quality image.
Challenges We Have Faced: Team Coordination – Aligning 11 members’ schedules and skills required careful planning. AI Limitations – Some generated images needed manual adjustments for clarity. Engagement Balance – Making the games educational yet fun took multiple iterations.
Despite these hurdles, our teamwork and persistence led to a functional, user-friendly app that we’re proud to share. We hope it becomes a valuable tool for anyone eager to learn Kyrgyz in an enjoyable way!
