Inspiration

EnergySavvy was created with the aim of reducing energy consumption and saving money for low-income households in New York City, while also encouraging high-rise property owners to adopt carbon-neutral practices. By incentivizing energy reduction for households and implementing an additional tax for high-rise property owners who are not carbon neutral, EnergySavvy aims to promote cost savings and reduce carbon emissions in the city.

What it does

EnergySavvy provides incentives for households to reduce their monthly energy consumption and encourages high-rise property owners to transition to carbon neutrality. Through the program, property owners can avoid the additional tax while also benefiting from cost savings. The progress of the project is transparent and visible to all.

How we built it

EnergySavvy was built using the node js, redis, and react stack.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges we faced was time constraint.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Despite the time constraints, we were able to develop and launch EnergySavvy within just two days.

What we learned

The experience of building EnergySavvy taught us the importance of effective time management.

What's next for EnergySavvy

EnergySavvy aims to continue to encourage sustainable practices and reduce carbon emissions in New York City. As climate change continues to impact the world, EnergySavvy believes that with more encouragement, we can achieve a significant transformation towards a more sustainable future.
