Inspiration

I worked at a company that develops solar projects and spent a lot of time going through rules and regulations looking for viable projects. I thought there has to be a better way to do this using AI.

What it does

Energy AI provides Solar developers with a set of regulations for different solar projects. The main feature is a chatbot that you can interact with to understand different rules and regulations pertaining to a solar project with citations to verify their accuracy.

What we learned

Accuracy of the results provided is really important because a lot of money is involved in setting up a solar plant. Permit violations can be quite expensive, which is why currently a lot of money is spent on having people read through these documents, and sometimes you also have lawyers paid over $400-500/hr reading through these documents.

What's next for EnergyAI

We have connected with several Solar developers in the recent RE+ conference in Atlanta, and found significant interest in a tool like EnergyAI. We plan to provide them with the first iteration of our product and receive more feedback on how it meets their requirements and work on developing the product further this summer.
