Inspiration
Public transport helps the environment at a much larger scale than most people would assume so through my program, I wish to spread awareness on how one single person can affect how much energy can be saved.
What it does
My program calculates and compares numerical values of energy consumption to declare the more sustainable way of travel.
How we built it
I built it in C, using basic mathematical functions and equations.
Challenges we ran into
I had to leave my team in the middle of the event because we weren't able to co-operate well enough. It was disappointing but I decided to still build and submit a project on my own.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I'm only a beginner as of now. I am a freshman taking CS 1050 with no background in coding whatsoever. I am proud of my project because I built it from scratch without having to ask anybody for help, unlike what I usually did in the past.
What we learned
In terms of programming, I have a much better understanding of integral concepts like functions, which I previously really struggled with. In a broader sense, though, I learned that it is important to just something, even if it doesn't match your expectations. It is important to simply participate.
