Inspiration

Our project was an export of multiple ideas into a bigger project. That happened through many different ideas being compressed into one. With all of us having a sizable amount of contribution to the project. Which ended up as a moderation simulator in a Windows XP-style game in a post-apocalyptic scenario.

What it does

You play the role of a moderator for the last social media in existence. You decide what gets uploaded to the internet and what doesn't.

How we built it

The game was developed in Unity and programmed using a combination of Visual Studio Community 2026 and Visual Studio Code. The game was written in C#. Birt and Abdul worked on the programming, Birt for general gameplay systems and Abdul for the text to speech narrator. Chidi and Shaibal worked on the art design and sprites for the project, making each sprite in Aesprite.

Challenges we ran into

The main issue we had was the amount of ideas and concepts we wanted to push into the game in such a short time. Creating original artwork from scratch was also an issue. But trial and error and simplification had prevailed, and some concepts were scrapped to create a better game experience.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The artwork was all made by the team within a short amount of time and with lots of well-maintained coordination and became very well standardized. Our improvisation also saved us from having to spend money on digital assets like AI voice actors. We instead opted to use default text-to-speech software. We also feel that the general aesthetic of the game came out how we intended it to work

What we learned

We gained valuable communication and teamwork skills during this event. We also got good practice at taking our concept from an idea to a demo with the core mechanics and some visual polish.
