Inspiration

What it does

Combats inflammation in the lungs and airways. It is (1) easier to administer (oral route) and (2) way safer than currently used immunosuppressants.

How we built it

Based on our clinical skills, pre-clinical data and existing literature

Challenges we ran into

We have interacted with drug regulatory authorities and they have requested that a Phase 2 clinical trial is performed before authorizing drug use.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our preliminary Phase 2 clinical trial plan has received an encouraging response from the Italian drug regulatory authority.

What we learned

Drug re-purposing is not easy as it seems, even in the middle of the COVID-19 medical catastrophe

What's next for ENDOCOVID

Developing a Phase 2 clinical trial to obtain regulatory approval and have the drug available for all COVID patients!
