Inspiration

We chose endometriosis because it is an overlooked chronic disease, often dismissed as "just menstrual cramps," or "simply period symptoms" As a team, we also saw alot of possibility with the endometriosis market which currently doesn't have any popularized apps.

What it does

EndoCare is a mobile app for patients newly diagnosed with endometriosis, by bridging healthcare, insurance, and education by helping users understand their coverage, manage their lifestyle changes, and streamlining care between the hospital and other care services.

Our app is not trying to be a replacement for medical professionals, instead we want to guide patients on where they can seek professional medical assistance. EndoCare acts as a central hub for connecting the user to connect with others, learn about their condition, and explore healthcare options based on their insurance coverage.

How we built it

Before designing the app we did research on endometriosis to understand our patients better, and market research on existing apps to identify gaps in the market. After that, we started our design process by creating a user flow, creating low-fi designs, and developing that further with branding.

Challenges we ran into

One challenge we ran into was deciding on how to focus on our HMW question. It was important staying focused on our problem, rather than trying to be an "all-in-one" application.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

One aspect we are proud of is the visual design for our app. The bright colours and logo serve to uplift users and evoke a sense of care and comfort.

What we learned

We became more familiar with the design thinking process in going from a problem to final design.

What's next for EndoCare

Our next steps include expanding our solution to support other chronic conditions, using the same framework as EndoCare.
