Inspiration

Endeerment was inspired by the feeling that most mental wellness and productivity tools are either too clinical or too demanding. We wanted to create something softer: a space where reflection, habit-building, and emotional care felt comforting instead of stressful. The idea was to make personal growth visible through a cozy world, so that taking care of yourself also meant taking care of a living forest and a deer companion.

What it does

Endeerment is a mental wellness and habit-building app that helps users check in with themselves, reflect on their emotions, manage small tasks, and stay motivated through gentle gamification. As users journal, complete to-dos, and care for their deer, they earn progress that helps grow their forest and garden. The app also includes social features, allowing friends to connect and visit each other's spaces.

How we built it

We built Endeerment as a full-stack web app using React for the frontend and Supabase for authentication, data storage, and social features. The interface was designed around a calm, nature-inspired visual system with animated interactions to make the experience feel alive and rewarding. We connected features like check-ins, pet care, task tracking, garden growth, and social profiles into one shared system so that user actions always feel meaningful and reflected in the app world.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was keeping the app cohesive as we added more systems. Features like moods, journaling, plant growth, pet interactions, and social functionality all had to work together without making the product feel cluttered or confusing. Another challenge was designing an experience that felt emotionally supportive while still being engaging enough to encourage users to come back consistently. We also had to think carefully about syncing user data, structuring the database for social relationships, and keeping the UI and animations consistent across pages.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of creating an app that feels emotionally warm and visually distinctive instead of looking like a standard tracker or dashboard. The combination of wellness support, gentle game mechanics, and social garden features gives Endeerment a unique personality. We are also proud that the app turns small acts of self-care into visible growth, making progress feel rewarding in a way that is calm and personal.

What we learned

We learned that building a good product is not just about making features function correctly, but about making them feel right. We learned a lot about balancing emotional design with technical structure, especially when combining wellness-focused experiences with gamified systems. We also gained experience in full-stack development, state management, animation design, and designing database models that support both personal and social interactions.

What's next for Endeerment

Next, we want to make Endeerment even more personalized and immersive. That includes expanding the social experience, adding more ways to grow and customize forests and gardens, improving the reflection and habit-building systems, and making the deer companion feel even more responsive. We also want to keep refining the experience so that Endeerment can become not just a useful app, but a place users genuinely enjoy returning to every day.
