PROBLEM:
To re-open a national economy, up to 10 million tests a day will be required and to redo the 30% that show erroneous results (Julian Peto, epidemiologist in the Financial Times), this places a huge onus on already stretched national healthcare infrastructures to manually insert patient information and coordinate patient data logistics.
THE SOLUTION:
The Encode Healthcare Passport: We have developed a system that uses mobile device cameras for instantly and accurately capturing 100% of patient information (such as driver license and passport information) and COVID test kit information in a single application to provide a GDPR compliant public health dashboard.
IMPACT:
1- 100% automated process of inserting patient information reducing admin time and increasing accuracy for clinicians/nursing staff/admin/lab technicians/procurement teams to collect information, distribute patient information and update COVID tests results to public health dashboards.
2- Test results to be mapped to a single identity with real-time data for public health information on demographic impact and clinical performance of patients via the GDPR compliant passport anonymisation methods. A thorough and ongoing disclosure of COVID testing outcomes is crucial, to allow a clear forecasts of opening up policies that may have gone too far and a restriction of activities if needed again.
3- Geolocation of inventory can be managed accurately as tests and other devices are used in association with the Encode Healthcare passport. Accurate forecasting dashboards are used to reduce unnecessary stock holdings and allow smart management of assets within numerous healthcare institutions and regions.
HOW IT IS INNOVATIVE:
As of yet there has been a lack of technology (including NHSx) that can allow for patient control of medical data yet also allow for anonymisation of clinical outcomes coupled to medical devices or supply-chain dashboards.
TARGET MARKET:
1- Healthcare institutions that offer COVID testing. This includes hospitals that would like to offer ongoing assessments for their staff as well as patients to ensure they are on the correct healthcare pathway.
2- Governments that would like to provide testings to their populous to assess if policies are working.
3- Home COVID-19 Test kit providers to provide ongoing support to users of the test kits and reduce either the labour costs associated with logistics of result provision or contacting patients that need to be retested due to faulty tests.
We would like to take the onus away from clinicians/nursing staff/admin/lab technicians to update COVID associated dashboards and automate the process with easy compliance to national patient safety registries and allow for the development of new innovations associated to COVID that can consume safe and secure Encode Healthcare Passport APIs building a durable and flexible network.
CURRENT BUSINESS PLAN:
For the general populous the service is free and easily distributable via a link.
1- INITIAL COLLECTION FEE: For every person that scans in their information the associated institution will be charged a nominal amount.
2- DISTRIBTION FEE: For every person that has a completed test there is also a nominal amount charged to the institution once the person receives their results.
3- DASHBOARD FEE: A monthly subscription charge to the institutions that would require to have the forecasting dashboards plus an on boarding fee.
The 3 step business plan is offered to reduce the cost of employment for those associated to COVID testing.
IMPLEMENTATION:
The initial Scandit solution is available as an app on IOS and ANDROID without the Encode backend for free and ready for marketing and use "Scandit Healthcare". An additional 3 days is required to customise dashboards for each institution to use.

2- Contract implementation with corporates developing surgically implantable devices in the specialties of neurosurgery, orthopaedics, cardiac surgery, and plastic surgery to ensure they comply with MDR.
