Inspiration

As someone who has dealt with persistent and severe depression for years I know how hard it can be to reach out for help, even when it's clear you need help. This project is based off of my own personal experiences with both intrapersonal relationships as well as interactions with suicide hotlines.

What it does

This simple GUI allows people to ask for the help that they most need and provides agency and security when calling a suicide line. It can already be very intimidating to contact a suicide hotline, let alone to ask for what you need. The GUI allows the user to think about what they are looking to get out of this communication and ask for it without having to interact with another person. Not only will the caller get information on how to address an individual, the user get security in knowing in general the kind of experience they will get.
