Inspiration

My inspiration for TrailFinder stemmed from a passion for hiking and the desire to make outdoor exploration more accessible and personalized. I recognized the challenge of finding the perfect hiking trails tailored to individual preferences and set out to create a solution that simplifies the process.

What it does

TrailFinder is an application built using partyrock.aws is designed to help users discover hiking trails based on their preferences. By inputting criteria such as trail difficulty and locations, users can receive personalized recommendations for trails that align with their hiking style and interests.

How we built it

I built TrailFinder app using partyrock.aws. I selected the suitable machine learning algorithms to enhance the applications recommendation engine and provide accurate trail suggestions.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge that i faced was to choose the correct model for my application. Its all like a trial and error method and finally i was able to select the suitable models which made this app incredible.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Despite the challenges, I am happy and proud to create TrailFinder, a user-friendly and reliable app for outdoor enthusiasts.

What we learned

Through the development process of TrailFinder, I learned many things that act behind it to give the exact recommendations based on the locations and difficulty level i prefered. Learned the importance of continuous iteration and improvement. I gained insights into user behavior, preferences, and expectations, which will inform future updates and enhancements to the app.

What's next for TrailFinder: Find hiking trails based on your preferences

In the future, we plan to enhance TrailFinder by integrating social features, advanced filtering options, and user-generated content like trail reviews and photos. Additionally, we aim to partner with outdoor organizations to expand our global trail database, making TrailFinder the go-to companion for hikers everywhere. Will introduce new features which the other applications do not have.
