Inspiration
We believe that hackathons are a powerful platform for innovation and creativity, where individuals from diverse backgrounds come together to collaborate and bring their ideas to life. However, we also acknowledge that the hackathon experience can be challenging for many participants, ESPECIALLY for first-timers. That's why we embarked on this project – to make the hackathon experience more accessible and enjoyable for everyone and to support the next generation of game-changing ideas and solutions.
What it does
Our project helps hackers by providing personalized hacker house pairing suggestions based on their careers. We understand that the hackathon experience can be greatly enhanced by being surrounded by individuals who share similar interests and career goals. That's why we've developed a sophisticated matching algorithm that pairs hackers with compatible peers, based on factors such as their area of expertise, professional experience, and career aspirations. By fostering a supportive and collaborative environment, we believe that hackers will be better equipped to tackle the challenges of the hackathon and come away with meaningful connections and opportunities for future collaboration.
How we built it
We built our project using Figma, a popular and user-friendly design tool that allows for collaboration and streamlined design processes.
Challenges we ran into
Like any project, we encountered a number of challenges during the development process. One of the biggest challenges we faced at the beginning of the project was trying to narrow down our big ideas. With so many possibilities and opportunities, it was difficult to determine which ideas to pursue and which to set aside. We wanted to create an intuitive and user-friendly experience for our users, but this required extensive testing and iteration to get right. We needed to ensure that the interface was easy to navigate and that all of the features were accessible and useful to hackers.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our team worked hard to create a user-centered design that was not only aesthetically pleasing but also intuitive and easy to use.
What we learned
The importance of user-centered design: We learned that taking the time to understand the needs and preferences of our users is essential to creating a product that is not only functional but also enjoyable to use. The power of collaboration: Working together as a team and with external partners allowed us to leverage our collective strengths and achieve greater results than we could have individually.
