EmpowerHer

Inspiration

As high school girls exploring our potential post-secondary pathways, we understand exactly how challenging and scary it can be. We find that we are underrepresented in many different fields of work and want to help other girls/women like ourselves feel seen and supported.

What it does

EmpowerHer is a platform that allows experienced women to become mentors for the ambitious future girls/women of the workforce. It offers courses and mentorship from women of a variety of different fields of work/education.

How we built it

It was built with the HTML and CSS languages on Replit, a platform that allowed us to code and work on this project together in live-time.

Challenges we ran into

We experienced challenges with finding a way to code together, but after a little research, we discovered Replit.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are extremely proud of how much we have learned from each other and the hard-work and creativity that was put into developing EmpowerHer.

What we learned

We have become much more experienced in website development and have developed a stronger comprehension of the HTML language.

What's next for EmpowerHer

In the future, we hope to add an anonymous blog space where users can support and talk to each other. Additionally, we hope to innovate on the courses our website has to offer and how they are delivered.
