Emploi
Inspiration
Job searching is still remarkably manual.
Candidates spend hours searching across job boards, tailoring resumes, writing cover letters, and submitting applications, often without knowing whether a role is legitimate or even a good fit.
On the other side, recruiters are overwhelmed with thousands of resumes, making it difficult to identify the best candidates quickly.
We believed AI could do more than assist either side. It could actively represent both.
Our solution
Emploi enables every job seeker to create an autonomous AI Career Agent.
Instead of waiting for users to search manually, the agent continuously discovers relevant opportunities, evaluates fit, prepares personalized applications, and submits them on the user's behalf.
For recruiters, Emploi reverses the traditional hiring workflow. Rather than filtering through countless resumes, recruiters receive AI-matched candidate profiles ranked by relevance, allowing them to spend more time engaging qualified talent instead of screening applications.
Our vision is simple: hiring should be driven by intelligent matching rather than manual searching.
How we built it
Emploi was built with GPT-5.6 and Codex at its core.
GPT-5.6 powers the reasoning layer behind the platform, including resume understanding, candidate and job matching, personalized application generation, and employer evaluation.
Codex accelerated development across the project by helping implement application logic, refactor components, generate production-ready code, build integrations, and rapidly iterate on new features. It allowed us to spend less time writing boilerplate and more time refining the product experience.
Together, GPT-5.6 and Codex enabled us to move from concept to a working prototype within the hackathon timeframe.
Challenges
The biggest challenge was balancing autonomy with trust.
An autonomous agent should not blindly apply to every available role. We focused on ensuring applications remain relevant, personalized, and aligned with each user's preferences while keeping the decision-making process transparent.
Another challenge was designing a workflow that delivers value to both job seekers and recruiters without simply becoming another job board. This led us to rethink the hiring experience around AI agents and intelligent matching instead of resumes and keyword searches.
What we learned
Building Emploi reinforced our belief that AI should not simply accelerate existing workflows. It should fundamentally redesign them.
Rather than helping people complete repetitive tasks faster, autonomous agents can take ownership of those tasks while humans focus on making better decisions.
We believe the future of hiring is not better job boards.
It is autonomous career agents working on behalf of both candidates and employers.
