Inspiration

We realized that every human action is driven by emotions—whether it’s career goals, personal dreams, or relationships. Yet most people struggle to understand their feelings or connect them to their actions. With mental health affecting over 1 billion people worldwide (WHO, 2025) and costing the global economy nearly $1 trillion (UN, 2026) in lost productivity, we wanted to create a tool that helps people process emotions intentionally rather than reactively.

What it does

EmoTrace tracks daily emotions, detects patterns, and provides actionable insights. Users input how they feel, reflect on context, and set emotional goals. The app identifies sequences like:

Happy -> Exhausted -> Numb

and shows how emotions align with intentions. Anonymous community trends provide societal insights without compromising privacy.

How we built it

We converted our ideas into strategically crafted prompts to feed into Base44's AI, which created this full-stack web application

Challenges we ran into

Distributing the work across the team and managing our time to complete the full project and demo video was challenging, especially due to remote collaboration and differing time zones.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud to create a full-stack working app that emphasizes and fights a statistically significant leading global issue that is foundational to the nature of human existence.

What we learned

We learned the power of collaboration between a range of different skill sets, along with the potential for AI in the digital product building industry.

What's next for Emotions Tracking App

We plan to expand emotional vocabulary, improve analytics, and explore AI-driven personalized suggestions.
