Breakout rooms for 1 to 1 counselling
Inspiration: The day-to-day mental health we see among ourselves. The feeling of loneliness is pervasive these days and leads to significant concerns like depression and Anxiety.
What it does: Our platform is designed to provide solutions to their dilemma. We will have counsellors, therapists, and even other humans to listen to them and understand their issues. Through Emotional Safe Haven one can publish their Dilemmas, and get replies from counsellors and other users, they can chat with counsellors, or schedule a video call with them. We will have video streaming sessions where different events will be organized, most of the events will majorly focus on the interaction of the audience and solve their queries and make them feel relaxed. It has features like "Find your Therapist", and "Peace Pocket" - Here one can store their favourite memory.
How we built it: We used Nextjs to build the frontend part and Stream API for most of the backend work. Also, we used Figma for designing.
Challenges we ran into: Integrating Stream API in our platform was tough, and then integration of all those features in one app was also difficult. We faced difficulties during the ideation phase too.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: The completion of the front end. The addition of features like "Peace Pocket" and Find your Therapist. We are proud that we successfully integrated the Stream API into our system.
What we learned: Working of Stream API. Also, we got to know a lot of new features of Material UI.
What's next for Emotional Safe Haven: We want to make it a full-fledged product with all the features. We will change its UI by making it more soothing to the eyes and implement all the features like Voice Calls, Video Streaming, etc. properly.
